Karl Stefanovic has shared his verdict on his rumoured replacement on the Today show as an insider revealed his successor simply needs to “name his price” to Nine bosses.
Karl Stefanovic’s rumoured replacement on the Today show has reportedly been told he can “name his price”.
The 51-year-old has continued to fuel reports he is set to walk away from Nine when his contract expires at the end of the year.
Speaking on Triple M Breakfast with Beau, Cat and Woodsy on Thursday, Stefanovic gave his verdict on the latest name to be thrown into the ring for his replacement, former McLeod’s Daughter star Rodger Corser.
An insider has revealed the actor, who currently hosts Channel Nine game show The Floor, can “name his price” while Stefanovic described him as a “fabulous human being”.

Beau Ryan asked Stefanovic his thoughts on his rumoured replacement as she shared reports Corser was “sniffing around”.
“I like it,” the Today host remarked.
When Aaron ‘Woodsy’ Woods said Corser would be unlikely to land the top Nine job because he is an actor, Stefanovic disagreed, pointing out sprinter Matt Shirvington is a host on Sunrise.

Stefanovic’s seal of approval comes as an insider told New Idea earlier this week that the actor was the “perfect person” to host Today.
“He can handle a ‘big-ticket’ TV program, he’s smart, likeable and knowledgeable – and let’s face it, he looks good on camera,” the source said.
“The execs at Nine would love to sign him up for Today, when that co-host spot becomes available.”
The insider claimed Nine is prepared to “pay a significant amount” and the actor can “name his price”.
Meanwhile, Stefanovic has reportedly confirmed he’s likely to swap breakfast TV for a move to radio once his contract expires.
The broadcaster made the revelation at the Cairns Crocodiles summit on Wednesday, telling TV executive Maz Farrelly he’s keen to “see what radio’s like”.
“I probably will do radio, and I will more than likely just dip my toe in the water to see if I like it before I even thought about going to do breakfast radio,” Stefanovic said.
“I want exposure, I want to see what radio is like.
“I will continue doing TV, and [The Karl Stefanovic Show podcast] right now is my biggest priority outside of my commitments for Channel Nine.
“I just think there’s so much room for growth.”
