The romantic memory took an unexpected turn when Ally was recounting the story to friends with Michael nearby.
After listening to her describe exactly how he had looked that night, Michael interrupted with a blunt correction.
“I’ve never owned a red T-shirt,” he told her.
Suddenly, one of the details Ally had remembered so vividly no longer appeared quite as certain.

Two years after meeting, Langdon and Willesee Jr married in Noosa in 2008.

Langdon went on to become one of Nine’s most recognisable television figures, with roles across 60 Minutes, Today and later A Current Affair.
Michael, himself an experienced journalist and the son of renowned broadcaster Mike Willesee, has also spent much of his professional life around news and television.
In a rare comment about his wife, Michael praised Ally’s work ethic, describing her as the hardest worker he had encountered during decades in journalism.
For Ally, balancing those professional demands with family life has not always been straightforward.

The couple welcomed their son Mack in 2017 and daughter Scout in 2019.
Langdon has previously spoken openly about how long hours, travel and the demands of 60 Minutes once made her question whether motherhood would fit alongside the career she had worked so hard to build.
