TC.AU.Sylvia Jeffreys Sparks Buzz With Subtle Red Carpet Change After Sharing Deeply Personal News

Sylvia Jeffreys’ Logies appearance looked a little different this year — and the reason had only been revealed hours earlier. The Today Extra presenter stepped onto the red carpet with her growing baby bump on display, shortly after announcing that she and Peter Stefanovic are expecting their third child — and first daughter.

Sylvia Jeffreys Looks a Little Different at the Logies — Just Hours After Sharing Her Joyful News

There was something noticeably different about Sylvia Jeffreys’ appearance at the 2026 TV WEEK Logie Awards — and the reason had only become public a matter of hours earlier.

The Today Extra presenter stepped onto the red carpet at The Star Sydney on Sunday wearing an elegant navy floor-length gown, smiling for photographers during what initially looked like another glamorous awards-night appearance.

But this time, the silhouette of her gown quietly reflected a major new chapter unfolding away from television.

Earlier that same day, Jeffreys and husband Peter Stefanovic had announced that they were expecting their third child.

A familiar red-carpet face, with one meaningful difference

Jeffreys, 40, wore a long-sleeved navy gown featuring gathered detailing through the front and a subtle cut-out near the neckline.

She kept the rest of the look relatively understated, pairing the dress with several rings, a dark manicure and her blonde bob styled in soft waves.

Yet it was her growing baby bump that gave the appearance its most personal significance.

The Logies marked one of the first major public glimpses of Jeffreys since she and Stefanovic shared their pregnancy news earlier that morning. She appeared on the red carpet without her husband, who works as a journalist for Sky News Australia.

The announcement that changed the meaning of the moment

Hours before the awards began, the couple revealed on social media that their family of four was preparing to grow again.

Their announcement featured sons Oscar, six, and Henry, five, who are already preparing for their new roles as older brothers.

Jeffreys wrote that “baby number 3” was on the way and joked that the newest member of the family may have to get used to plenty of football merchandise being handed down from her brothers.

The couple also revealed another particularly special detail: after welcoming two boys, their third child will be their first daughter.

The news quickly drew congratulations from several familiar television figures.

Samantha Armytage celebrated the announcement, while Leila McKinnon joked about Jeffreys becoming a future “netball mum”. Nine reporter Lauren Tomasi also shared her excitement for the couple.

Another chapter for Sylvia and Peter

Jeffreys and Stefanovic married at Ooralba Estate in Kangaroo Valley on April 1, 2017.

Their first son, Oscar, arrived in February 2020. Eight months later, Jeffreys revealed that she was expecting their second child, Henry.

Now, several years after becoming a family of four, the couple are preparing for another change at home — one that made Jeffreys’ latest Logies appearance look very different when viewed in the context of what had been announced only hours earlier.

A busy period on and off screen

The pregnancy news comes while Jeffreys remains busy professionally.

Alongside her role on Today Extra, she has recently stepped in on Today while Sarah Abo is on maternity leave, appearing alongside Tom Steinfort as Nine continues to test different combinations on the breakfast program.

Reports have also linked Steinfort and Samantha Armytage with possible longer-term roles on the show following their recent appearances together.

For Jeffreys, however, Sunday’s Logies carried a story of its own.

What might otherwise have been another polished red-carpet appearance instead offered the first public glimpse of a deeply personal change — turning one subtle difference in her appearance into a quiet sign of the new chapter already beginning for her family.
